My newsletter is a goldmine!

I didn’t know this before about newsletters!

If you are a writer and have been in self-publishing for some time then chances are that you may know about the newsletter links in your ebooks.

As per the new rule, you cannot have newsletter links in your ebooks anymore!

Previously when I started out, the newsletter was okay with Amazon. But now writers are not allowed to add any outside links to their ebooks. I didn’t know the rules have changed and that caused me problems with my account (one year back).

But that time has changed because I sell directly to my readers now. I do have more than 100+ books (7 years of work) under multiple pen names. Not all are sold directly to my audience. But Hazel Paradise and books under my Original name are sold directly to the readers.

What’s the point in selling directly?

I get their emails!

Why emails are so much important?

1) I send discount coupons and promotional content from time to time.

2) Direct connection with my audience that isn’t possible with other platforms(Amazon KDP, Medium, and Twitter).

3) I get to share information that I don’t share much anywhere!

The results?

I have seen a little positive shift in my revenue. I haven’t met my goals yet. But this is sure that if we, writers keep on working smartly then we won’t be needing any marketplaces in the future.

I know from my personal experience that the marketplace was easy back then. One book publish and I used to see instant sales the very next day. But now, it’s difficult to make a decent income as more and more low-quality ebooks are getting published every single day. It’s hard to get noticed!

So my dear writers, collect emails from your audience!

I use Beehiiv in case you wanna know. They have a free plan as well to try out!

But if you wanna go for other options then Gumroad will be best for you!

Good Luck!
