I started email marketing after I hit 2k followers on Medium. I lost many potential clients back but seeing this message from my newsletter company, I think we all can now earn way more money than what other platforms are offering us.

Is email marketing dead?

I started email marketing a few months back and I am making profits even though I have a small email list now. So nope, email marketing is not dead and is not going to die even in the future. I pay more attention to email marketing than self-publishing nowadays and I think this explains a lot.

I thought the newsletter was dead. And this was the no. 1 reason why I avoided them like a plague at the very beginning of my career. And yes, I did lose my readers who were actually interested in my work. They might have forgotten my name by now.

Since then whenever I write an article, I try to add my newsletter link at the end or somewhere in the article and I would recommend you do the same. Keep your readers engage.

I have written the importance of having a newsletter many times in the past but I would highlight some points here in case you have missed the previous emails.

1) You build trust among your readers and credibility. Building trust is never easy. I agree. Its hard and takes lots of time and effort and the results are slow at the start. always. But once you get grip on it then it’s really worth it in a long run. I can now see this myself.

2) You have more control. There are many ways you can collect information about your audience. You have social media platforms that actually aren’t yours fully. There are free newsletters out there but we all know that there is nothing free in this world. Every company wants money to grow and this was the one reason why I went with this company directly. I can see which audience is interested in which article, how many times my audience has opened my emails in the past, and so on. This is important for monetizing the newsletter. This way I can send them related products and courses.

3) It’s personal. I want to share many things with my audience but social media platforms aren’t always great for that. A newsletter for me is a direct way of communicating with those who are actually interested in knowing about me and my work.

4) Selling products that you have trust in is easy. You will monetize your newsletter one day. And for that building trust is necessary. Anyone will buy your products if you keep them providing valuable resources that are practical and have been used by you successfully in the past. Making around $1k is easy once you gain trust.

5) Building brand credibility. This is often to show your expertise to your audience. If you are an expert in a certain niche then why not share with your potential customers directly? Very few secrets are ever revealed on the social media platform. Very few.

I was thinking of finding a sponsor (paid). But I have to admit - I am not really good at bargaining. Most just wanted me to use their products (which is good and completely agree for better conversion) and use affiliate marketing instead of paid promotion.
